Fresh Oysters

I went on a family trip last week. First we went to the Munakata Shrine. It's well known as a shrine where prayers for traffic safety are especially effective.

After that, we went to the Oyster House, "Kakigoya". It was a restaurant where we can eat fresh oysters. The house is made of vinyl, like a plastic hothouse.
We ate oysters, Yesso scallops and turban shells. The food was great. It was all so fresh because we could eat them as soon as the fisherman caught them. The restaurant is right on the seashore. When we grilled the oysters, some of them suddenly exploded and the soup flew up dirtying my clothes and face. I should have worn clothes that I didn't mind getting dirty.
Anyway, the food was really great and I want to go there again.

Tomonoura

Today I want to introduce a town called Tomonoura.
I went there more than one year ago.
First of all, I went to Hiroshima prefecture on business on Saturday.

After finishing my work, I met a friend in Fukuyama.

The next day, I visited Tomonoura.
I was interested in the town because I heard the setting of the movie, "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea" is there. The directer, Mr. Miyazaki didn't say that. So I don't know if it's true or not, but I wanted to compare there to the setting of the movie.

The movies made in "STUDIO GHIBLI" are my favorites. They are animations and for kids, but I can get some profound messages from them.

Tomonoura is a very small and old town. There are many steep paths and the road is made of stone. It was too difficult to walk wearing pumps!

There are some shops. I wanted to visit there, but I didn't have enough time to visit there....

Actually I'm not sure if this town is the setting of the movie, "Ponyo". It seems like that, but it's not the same...

Anyway I enjoyed traveling. But I went there alone. I prefer to travel with my favorite friends!!

Mountain Climbing

I went up Abura Mountain 2 weeks ago.
It is located in Fukuoka City.

First of all, we went to Abura Mountain Shimin-no mori(Abura Mountain citizen's forest) by bus. We arrived there about half past two. And the we started climbing the mountain. We had to return there by half past five because we needed to get on the last bus to go back to the city.

While climbing, I was out of breath because I don't usualy excise and don't have stamina. It took me about one and a half hours to arrive at the top of the mountaion.
It was cloudy so I couldn't see the beautiful view clearly from there....But I was comfortable.

And then we start to go down the mountain. Going down is easy for me compared to going up! On the way to the bus stop, we saw some beautiful flowers such as cherry blossoms.

We arrived at the bus stop around five. It means, we made it!

After that, we went to the restaurant to eat dinner. It was really delicious.

I usually don't excise so climbing a mountain is new for me and I'm excited. I want to go up some mountains more.

Hot springs

Last sunday I went to Yufuin(Oita prefecture).
Yufuin is very famous for hot springs.
I like to bathe in hot springs.

It took about 2 hours from my house to Yufuin.

When we arrived in Yufuin, we went to a hotel to have lunch.
It was really delicious.

And then we bathed in the hot springs. I was very comfortable because it was specious.
There are many kinds of hot springs there.
One of them has tea flavored! Amazing!
I was able to see cherry blossoms from there.

After that, we went to Mingei village.
There are many interesting shops there.
We had 2-hour free time there.

We went to Kinrin-lake. It was beautiful.
Unfortunately, we got lost there and spent a lot of time on searching for the right way.
Because of this, we didn't have enough time to visit some shops I was interested in.
So, I want to visit there again.
