Tomonoura

Today I want to introduce a town called Tomonoura.
I went there more than one year ago.
First of all, I went to Hiroshima prefecture on business on Saturday.

After finishing my work, I met a friend in Fukuyama.

The next day, I visited Tomonoura.
I was interested in the town because I heard the setting of the movie, "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea" is there. The directer, Mr. Miyazaki didn't say that. So I don't know if it's true or not, but I wanted to compare there to the setting of the movie.

The movies made in "STUDIO GHIBLI" are my favorites. They are animations and for kids, but I can get some profound messages from them.

Tomonoura is a very small and old town. There are many steep paths and the road is made of stone. It was too difficult to walk wearing pumps!

There are some shops. I wanted to visit there, but I didn't have enough time to visit there....

Actually I'm not sure if this town is the setting of the movie, "Ponyo". It seems like that, but it's not the same...

Anyway I enjoyed traveling. But I went there alone. I prefer to travel with my favorite friends!!

I saw Ponyo movie an hour ago. It is amazing! Of course, it's a children's history, but it's beautiful! It seams to me that the city showed in the movie is Tomonoura, although I had never been there... I adore animes, specially those from Studio Ghibli. I am from Brazil, and I admire your country's beauty and culture so much that one day I intend to visit Japan. My english is terrible, that's why you may find some writing errors. I liked your blog! Here in Brazil we finish writing by saying "Um abraço", that means "to hug", in portuguese [that is common among us latin americans, an way to express friendship]. So, "um abraço!".

Hi! I'm really sorry for the late reply. I didn't check my diary for a long time.
I'm happy that you also like Studio Ghibli. You are from Brazil, aren't you? I want to visit there someday.
I think your English is good! Don't worry.:)
Thank you for your comment!
